UK Sterling is gaining momentum thanks to sucessfull vaccination which could bring life back to normal soon and reopen the economy. Another reason however is weak dollar which has been suffering by huge stimulous package which on one hand helps economy, but also weakens the dollar. Rise in unemployemnt benefits claims in US also didnt help dollar as it shows that economy doesnt recover yet. (Ritchie, Bloomberg)
