France could veto Brexit deal

As Brexit talks continues, France announced that there is a big chance they might veto the deal if they are not happy with it. This would be really embarasing for EU negotiatiors if their deal would be rejected by one the biggest EU members. However EU negotiatiors hope to make a deal withing next few days as deadline is 31st of December, if deal is not passed than they could continue in 2021, but in a meantime, there would be tarrifs on UK goods, so it would be big problem for many firms who are already hit by pandemic. This news from France didnt bring too much optimism and could be negative for both Sterling and FTSE100. (Nardeli, Bloomberg)
